Hello Doctor, I am taking Thyronorm 100 mg since 2 years after pregnancy. My TSH level in recent report is TSH 109.32,T3 81 ,T4 5.4 should I continue with 100 mg thyronorm? I take tablet with milk in the morning is it ok. Please suggest. I have constipation too.

Hello lybrate-user your thyroid levels are not normal so you need to continue with the medicine thyronorm 100 .The best is also to go for 6 monthly follow up to your endocrinologist for review and advice.

Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH 109 mU/L is suggestive of totally uncontrolled hypothyroidism. The present dose is too inadequate. Plus the drug has to be taken on empty stomach with only water. Milk should not be taken with. Dosage may have to be increased to at least 125 mcg, then check TSH after 6 weeks. TSH should come down to 3 to 4 mU/L for being free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Thanks.
