Dear lybrateuser, - Hypertension can be symptomless also & one may come to know of it after measurement - symptoms can include headache, heaviness in head, breathlessness, pain or heaviness in chest, tiredness on walking, climbing, palpitations, giddiness - in majority of cases cause is not known, very rarely could be due to adrenal disorder.

Symptom wise hypertension is sometimes known as silent killer, means hypertension many times not produce any symptoms. It is difficult to judge BP level on the basis of symptoms. Some patients may feel headache, tiredness, weakness, vertigo etc. But most remain asymptomatic.
