My thyroid level was 4.2 in first trimester and was reduced by going with Tythoronom 25 mcg. Around 3 trimester again shouted to 4.7 where dosage increased to 50 mcg. Is this levels high? Does it have impact on baby brain development? Net forums says lot abt lower IQ, Does this level have any adverse affect? Please provide details.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Through out the pregnancy there are specifically recommended TSH levels to be maintained - 1) 1st Trimester: 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2) 2nd Trimester: 0.2 to 3.0 mU/L & 3) 3rd Trimester :0.3 to 3.0. These are mandatory, because higher than these levels affect fetal growth and intelligence as well as the outcome of pregnancy. Thanks.
