Doctor, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2015, I was prescribed 100 mcg while pregnant, and after delivery 50 mcg, result were good but now since 1 year if I am having 50 mcg TSH increases upto 15 in some 4 months and if I am taking 100 mcg TSH decreases below 0.4 in around 2 months, what should I do?

Hello, Thanks for the query. During pregnancy increased dosage of Thyroxine is needed. Post delivery dose has to be reduced. Now if TSH is going up at 50 mcg, then there is a need for increased dose. Therefore, to maintain a level of 3 to 4 mU/L of TSH you will have to take a proportionate dosage, that is increase the dose to 62.5 mcg (12.5 mcg tablets are available), then check TSH after 6 weeks. If desired level is not yet achieved, then increase by 12.5 to 75 mcg (tablets of 12.5, 25,50, 75 mcg & 100 mcg are available). TThen check TSH again after 6 weeks. Once above mentioned level is reached, stay with that dosage. Thanks.
