I had a root canal done 3 months back. For the past 8 days the same tooth is paining. I have been to my dentist twice this week. She took x-ray and said everything is ok. It must be a case of trauma. She advised me to take hifenac p for 3 days and stop. But my pain has not gone. Please advise whether I can keep on taking hifenac p till the pain is totally gone? How long can I take this medicine.

Hi lybrate-user. First of all thank you for your query. First thing I would like to ask is after rootcanal has a crown been placed over that. If not it can be a cause of pain. Next is that whether food is getting stuck in between this tooth and adjacent tooth. It can also be a cause. The causes can be various. So I suggest you to please if you can sent the xray and a picture of the teeth clinically inside the mouth to me We can see it and plan the treatment accordingly.
