I have asthma which rarely strikes. I was taking salbutamol as prescribed by my doctor and accidentally took too much. Now my heart beat is faster and I am feeling palpitations. Is this symptom due to the salbutamol or should I be worried. I couldn't contact my doctor so am posting a query here.

That's the commonest siDe effect of salbutamol. But use your inhalers cautiously and as advised. After few minutes the effect will be gone.

Excessive use of salbutamol can cause palpitation, which is a rescue medicine. Use it to minimum. Switch to LABA and ICS combination by inhalation for regular use.
