Dear lybrateuser, - It is a good decision that you have decided to quit smoking, follow some tips : - fix a date on which you want to quit, you have to quit completely, you cannot reduce it - remove all the articles associated with it from the house or whichever place you keep them so that they are out of your reach when the urge is there - inform friends about your decision so that they do not coax you to have one - divert & keep your mind busy in various activities like your job or exercise or follow a hobby, go out for a walk, talk to your friends or watch TV or listen to music when the urge is there - have nicotex gum or tablet if urge is strong as per the recommended dose - if still you find it difficult then take help of a medical professional or an organisation which can help you quit your habit.
