Dear Lybrate user, Xarelto by itself does not cause any back pain. However, Xarelto does increase your risk of bleeding. If there was bleeding in the back it could cause pain but if it's already established by a medical professional that your father's back pain is because of lumbar spondylosis and did not get worse after xarelto then it's okay to continue the medication. If the back pain is clearly worse right after taking Xarelto or if the back pain is new after taking xarelto then it's better to see a doctor in person and if needed get imaging (CT or MRI) to rule our any bleeding.
