Hi, I have a one year old mild hypertrophic scar under the malaria region of right which gives an impression of a Malar mound. Will silicone gel be of any help? Or are there any other safe treatment?

Avoiding sun exposure and massaging healing wounds can help minimize scarring. ... Another major concern is scarring. Once the wound closes and the tissue has begun to grow back, the outer dermal layer can appear discolored and have a different texture than the surrounding skin.

You can try silicone gels. It takes around 4-6 months of using the gel twice daily on the spots for it to decrease. Also fractional CO2 laser can help in decreasing it .
