My daughter aged 24 has been suffering from left eye inflammation. She was asked to apply gatiquin-p, nepachek &homide eye drops. For roughly 2 weeks. I was told that gatiquin -p is banned in india. It is a steroid. Is it sfe to apply one drop - 3 times a day for two weeks. My eye is red, irritation is there and light sensitivity. Please advice.

Gatiquin 0.3% Eye Ointment is an antibiotic that is used to treat infections of the eye, such as conjunctivitis. Remember, that it is an antibiotic and thus will treat eye infections that are caused by bacteria only and not the others. Don?t stop taking the medicine prematurely as it might cause a relapse of the infection. If you have been using other drops for your eyes, it is advised to wait for some time before you use them.
