I am starting ketogenic diet. I will be mainly eating eggs, vegetables, yogurt on this diet. I have read that on this diet our body gets deficient of a few vitamins and minerals: magnesium, potassium, sodium and we need to take them to prevent unpleasant symptoms like headache, muscle cramps and fatigue. On websites the dosage recommended is: - Potassium: consume ~3,000 mg of potassium a day. We also get it from veggies. - Magnesium:Take 3 slow-release magnesium tablets likeSlow-MagorMag 64a day for 20 days, then continue taking 1 tablet a day afterwards. The recommended daily average for people on the ketogenic diet is ~400 mg of magnesium a day. - Sodium requirements can be fulfilled thru Salt probably. In what form should I take magnesium and potassium? Thank you.
