Hi, For the past few months, my right ear canal has repeatedly been inflamed. I went to my healthcare provider, was prescribed penicillin, and it went away - but then it returned. I went to my doctor in May, and still in October it is inflamed still. I stopped using q-tips after my doctor visit, but that did not help.

You have otitis externa and the mild injury caused by Q tips get infected . Most people don't use Q-tips properly and wind up putting them inside their ears to feel "clean." ... Not only is ear wax good for you, but putting a Q-Tip anywhere except for the outermost parts of your ear can be a big detriment to your health
