I developed itching with black soft skin inside thigh area near groin. Took some skin cream but it did not help. Took amoxicillin antibiotic but it did not cure. The area of black patch has increased to approx 4*2 inches on both thighs. When scratched a liquid substance comes out after some time wetting my underwear a bit. As precaution I wash the area with dettol water and apply candiderma ointment. The situation is for past 1 month. Now I have got boils/pimples at several places near the affected area. Pls provide prescription. Please advice.

Fungal infection or Ring worm. When occurs in groin, called as jock itch. Usually fungal infection is common in moist areas of body like skin folds. It's mostly circular or round in appearance. May be red or black in colour. Treatment depending on the type and severity. Avoid sharing clothes, towels and soap; sweating also increases it. As it has to be differentiated from eczema and infection, its a must to see and confirm the diagnosis for proper treatment.
