I am using etilaam pro 20, 1 tablet once a day after dinner for last 9 months to keep mild anxiety under control. Recently I stopped using it suddenly, I felt little anxious but after 3 to 4 days the feeling of being anxious went away. My question is - (1) how to manage anxiety (unknown reason) and depression without popping pills like antidepressants. (2) what foods to include in diet and what to avoid?(3) lifestyle changes (though I am professional so hardly get time to sleep more than 6 hrs and no time to exercise but don't have a standing job). (4) does going hungry for more than 4 to 5 hrs increase anxiety.

Dear Sir Thank you for your query. - anxiety can occur due to a lot of reasons including certain medical problems like thyroid issues. So, please get a detailed evaluation and necessary tests done to rule out any physical cause. Treatment of anxiety disorder is either medications or psychological therapy and sometimes both. So please see a psychiatrist / psychologist for a detailed evaluation and further management. If you don't want medications, you can try psychological therapy which are useful for anxiety disorder. - it is recommended to have a healthy diet which includes lots of green vegetables and fruits. Avoid nicotine, caffeine, alcohol and drugs. - exercising even for upto 30 minutes for at least 3 times a week will help. Try yoga / meditation / breathing exercises. - going hungry can cause a drop in glucose levels and can lead sometimes to symptoms similar to anxiety. Hope this helps.
