Achilles tendon appears normal in thickness .it is showing punctuate foci of intermediate signal intensity on cross section consistent with interstitial splits. Associated peri and paratendinitis is seen. There is expansion of the retrocalcaneal bursa with fluid suggestion inflammation. This expanded bursa is measuring 10 �16�21 mm in antero-posterior, transverse craniocaudal dimensions. There is diffuse marrow hyperintensity in the adjacent calcaneal marrow onPD fat sat images suggests inflammation. Associated diffuse inflammation is seen in the prachilles fat pad. There is also retroachilles inflammation. The visualized bones show normal marrow signal. The ankle joint appears normal. No joint effusion is noted .The visualized ligaments&tendons are normal in course &signal. There is no evidence of tenosynovitis.
