Regards Lybrate user. Plantar fasciitis refers to inflammation of the plantar fascia, where it attaches to the heel bone. There is debate however, if there is actual inflammation or not. In clinical practice, I have observed many patients get better if the movements of the hindfoot is corrected biomechanically. The heel undergoes a locking movement when we load it, if the locking is insufficient people tend to start complaining of the heel pain. It is recommended to consult an orthopaedic manual physiotherapist to have a detailed evaluation of your foot and leg, so a treatment program may be planned.
