Hi, I am a Diabetic from 5 years, my fasting blood sugar is 148, Total Cholesterol is 240, Serum creatinine is 0.9,Hb 1 Ac-8.0. I am taking Metformin 500 morning and 750 in night after meals, taking tab Amlodipine 5 mg od, Enapril 2.5 mg od. I am also doing dietary restrictions and taking no sugar except sugar free tabs. Doing regular walking in evening for 30 minutes all 7 days. Kindly give suggestions for good control of blood sugar and cholesterol.

Thanks for the query. When one has very good control of diabetes following values are expected: Fasting < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg, HbA1c% < 6.8. Restricted diet with no sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pasties and foods from maida. Avoid alcohol, colas and smoking. Daily 1 hour plus exercise is necessary.
