I am suffering from anxiety disorder. There are heart palpitations which make me feel uneasy. I performed rituals to feel happy whenever I felt uneasy. I have been told by a psychiatrist that I have to go through the process and feel that uneasiness for 10 days not performing any rituals. I have also been told that there will be a peak of palpitations after 10 days after which everything will be normal and I will be cured. I have been taking paxidep cr 25 in night and close md .25 twice a day for more than 3 months. Is it true that there will be a peak afterwards?

Initially antidepressant drugs tend to increase the anxiety during the first few days and later it subsides. Your treating psychiatrist may be referring to this phenomenon.
