Yes this is planter fascitis and if it is leave untreated it converts into calcanial spur. Calcanial spur is the next stage of planter fascitis where fascia becomes calcified and looks like extra bone growth below heel bone in x ray film, it is more painful and difficult to treat. Medial planter nerve passes near the fascia and it may also get affected, night sharp, shooting, burning pain in the planter aspect of foot indicates nerve involvement.
