I?m 47 years old man from bangalore diagnosed for depression & anxiety 14 years back. My elder sister diagnosed for depression & anxiety two years before me. I used to accompany my sister to meet doctor for treatment in nimhans. I married 19 years back, forcefully marriage coz of relatives & I was not happy. This was haunting me. I could?t leave coz of daughter. I have been taking 225 mg prothiaden for many years. Initially I contacted doctor, he used to charge medicine and later advised me to take 225 mg. I haven?t met doctor for years as I was feeling better with this dosage. Once I tried to discontinue/reduced the dosage as advised by my general physician in 2010 & after few days I was not comfortable without the dosage. I met the same psychiatrist again in 2010 coz of suicidal tendencies, he tried other medicines & finally he recommended 225 mg as I was comfortable. Post that I did?t meet psychiatrist. I?m well settled financially & still scared to discontinue this medicine as off late started getting panic attacks & it?s scary. I have gained weight despite going for a walk/gym & now obesity. Most of the time i?m unable to take any concrete decision in life beacuse of fear. Please advise.
