First time doctor suggest me telsartan 20 mg, I has been used from 1 to 2 years but suddenly from 2 days when I will check doctor suggested ctd-m 6.25/25 can you tell me my dose is increased or not and when I check my blood pressure that time seen 160/90 & pulse seems 125 this doctor. And I have like to take the other doctor opinion then after 1/2 hour only my blood pressure is 130/90 & pulse is also same seems. What is expected answer and suggestion from yours please suggest me. I will confuse.

Telsar 20 contains telmisartan 20 mg which is half of the recommended dose in adlults. Now your medicines have been changed to chlorthalidone 6.25 mg and metoprolol 25 mg. You must ask the treating doctor for the reason for this change. Its better to consult a cardiologist for a complete evaluation. This is so because at your age of 31 years hypertension is unexpected. We call it hypertension in the young. Secondary causes such as hypothyroidism, kidney disorders, obstructive sleep apnoea must be ruled out before beginning therapy in young patients. Visit a cardiologist nearby, get a complete evaluation including thyroid profile, kidney function tests, ecg ,echo, renal doppler etc done. Once all this is done then medications will be started and blood pressure checked in follow up. In addition you will require certain lifestyle changes like regular exercise to loose excess weight, salt reduction in diet, avoid packaged food items, alcohol and smoking cessation. Measure bp only once every month on fixed dates after resting for 10 mins. Bp rises during activity, stress, etc. Sometimes meeting a Dr. increases bp. Specially when meeting new Dr. for first time. Both medicines are bp medicines, both are mild doses, but they are different types.
