I am 33 years old, type-1 diabetes, I take novorapid but it starts absorbing bg after 1 hour. So I have to wait for 1 hour to eat food after taking insulin. As novorapid starts within 20 mins. Why this is happening to me. Kindly advice.

Rotate the injection site. Check if there are any hard areas around the site of injection. Or any dark discolouration of skin. If so, the absorption of insulin will be erratic.

Hello, thanks for the query. Please tell me how did you come to know that the insulin taken starts absorbing after 1 hour? Action of this insulin starts with in 10 to 20 minutes of injecting sub-cutaneously. Hence it has to be taken about half an hour before taking food. Thanks.
