Sir, I am a diabetic for 2 month, have been taking glytrin 20 mg. But recently I am given glycomet 500 or (250 (if found problem after taking). Sir please let me know which one is more powerful? And I regularly do my exercise in the morning and following strict diet. I regularly monitor my glucose level as fasting 120/105/115 like this and pp remains 128,125/120 so on after taking glytrin 20 mg. Should I switch to glycomet 500 or 250? Please suggest. And the more I have been diagnosed with tsh 8.67 and given eltroxin 25. Should I continue both the medicine? Please suggest which one should I continue between glycomet or glytrin?

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Please tell me what were the glucose levels when diagnosis was made= fasting, pp & hba1c%? If you are tablet tenelegliptin 20 mg, and the glucose levels are as mentioned above, then there is no reason to change. Other aspects are qually important like proper diet and regular exercise. There is no mention of your weight and height. It is necessary to maintain a near normal weight. (bmi < 23 kgs. Sq meter). As regards tsh 8.67 mu/l, at this level usually no treatment is advocated. Because it is considered as sub-clinical hypothyroidism. (6 to 9.9 mu/l of tsh). However, if there are troublesome symptoms of hypothyroidism present then treatment is given even at this level. You may have to check tsh level after 6 weeks of taking treatment regularly. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
