Am a diabetic but not sure if it is type 1 or 2. All these 10 years I have been treated for type 2 in india with metformin and supporting tablets but now in the us they suspect it could be type 1. India doctor suggests me to follow high fat, medium protein and low carb diet. Need your opinion on this.

Type 1 diabetic can not survive for 10 years without insulin. So there is no doubt that it wasn't type 1. If you are not responding to oral tablets and are requiring insulin it can be because of oha failure.
