Hello, thanks for the query. Please clarify the drug methimazole 30 mg was taken for how many days? Because tsh will not be changing before 3 to 4 weeks. Plus treatment needs to be given for over 12 to 18 months or up to 24 months. So please come back with proper answer. Thanks. Sir methimez ciplar ko lete 6 week ho gaya hai. Mai normal feel kar raha hu.

Hello, thanks for the question. From what you have written I understand that you are on treatment for hyperthyroidism with methimazole. Usually this drug needs to be given for over 18 months or some times up to 24 months. (which you have mentioned). The decision to stop medication is taken on the basis of tsh levels (returning to normal). That may happen after a few weeks or months of treat, ment. Just because one feels normal, treatment can not be stopped. Please the tsh regularly once every 2 to 3 months. If it remains normal then one can stop the treatment. Thanks.
