Hello, Usually when only glimiperide is being taken, it is always preferred to be taken about half an hour to 45 minutes before food. But in combination with metformin there is no hard and fast rule, about when to be taken. The reason being presence of metformin, as in some persons that drug is likely to cause gastrointestinal side effects. So many a times it is advised after food. Plus metformin is well absorbed even in presence of food. Considering all these reasons, you may take this combination either before food or after food. It hardly matters. Thanks.
