She is 28 years old. She is thyroid positive since 7 years. She is using thyrox 75 tablets. Now the test report says she is normal. Should she continue with the same tablet?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given, which are very non specific. It is better if actual tsh value is mentioned, without that it is difficult to know what is considered as "normal" another important aspect is that patient is having tsh in the normal range, because of the current treatment. The moment levothyroxine is stopped, there will be a deficiency created and tsh will again go up. So the treatment in hypothyroidism has to go on for lifetime. Plus a periodic check of tsh (once in 4 to 6 months) is necessary. Thanks.
