Lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. When hypothyroidism is well controlled with tsh maintained between 3 to 4 mu/l, most of the symptoms are in check. Even the efforts to reduce weight also show results. It is just not possible that maintaining normal level of tsh weight goes down. There is a need for diet restriction and regular exercise of over 1 hour a day. As regards the diet, one has to follow - 1) no sweets or least, no bakery items, no pastries, no breads and no foods made of maida. 2) always used whole grain flour for roti and chapati. 3) increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. 4) total caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and amount of weight reduction being planned. Thanks.

No need to change the dose. Repeat tsh after two months and discuss with your physician.
