My 2 year old baby has cavity in front tooth, we consulted a pediatric dentist and he took x ray for those tests. According to him the roots are not effected with the cavities, there is no puss but still she is insisting root canal. I heard a lot about the cases where babies died due to general or partial sedation in dental procedures. My question is 1) as there is no pain and puss formation in the teeth and the root as well as is not effected by the cavity do root canal treatment is really required in my babies case. 2) can filling only do the required work 3) is baby root canal can be done without any type if sedation 4) without sedation can a baby bear the pain occur in dental procedures 5) can refilling baby teeth help us to retail the primary teeth till 6 years without infection.

It's difficult to comment if rct is required without seeing xray send them on line. Sedation etc is required to make baby cooperative in longer procedures normally child doesn't allow but if a child is cooperative no requirement of sedation my own grand daughter has got it done without my sedation at the same age if while filling no infection it's likely to last well tell new ones errupting.

The filling can work and anaesthesia given to babies are tolerable for them. If not refilling done the cavity can get infected and cause pain. However you can wait with dental hygiene and observe if the tooth is falling and permanent one is coming.
