Hello. In pcos, upto 35% of patients have impaired glucose tolerance and about 10% have diabetes. Its not that you will be dependent on metformin or you will require the drug whole life. If you do regular exercise, brisk walk for 30 minutes and avoid high calorie food, often it has been seen that metformin is not required after certain period of time.

Dear Shweta Hi PCOD is basically a lifestyle problem . You can manage is to a large extent by Exercise , weight control and diet . Prediabetic means the you have higher chances of becoming diabetic in future if you will not take care of yourself now , So consider this as a warning and start exercising , stop sweets , added sugars and a low carbohydrate diet Metformin is an insulin sensitizer ,and helps in utilization of sugar . you will not become dependent on drug .
