Hi Sir, I have withdrawn alcohol since 72 days taking tab librium 25 mg since then every night as suggested by my family Dr. shall I continue or reduce or stop.

There is not point of taking librium for such a long period after stopping alcohol as this medicine is given to reduce withdrawal symptoms of alcohol which usually last for 2-3 weeks. Now you can tapper down the doses of librium slowly and stop completely in next 2-3 weeks. As this medicine may cause dependence when taken for longer periods and if you feel such dependence when you try to stop it, consult a psychiatrist for the solution. All the best.

Reduce librium by tapering. And then stop over next 15 days. Otherwise you may wish to deaddict benzodiazepine addiction. Alternatively drug free program works.

Welcome back lybrate-user, congratulations for remaining sober for 72 days. Since you may not get any withdrawal symptoms after so long, you can stop librium tablets. You can reduce to 19 g and stop fully. Do you have craving for alcohol? If so, take anti craving tablets for 9-12 months.
