How long can I safely use clonazepam 0.5 mg? My doctor prescribed me clonotril plus. I just want to know how long is it safe to use it?

Hello Mr. Lybrate-User, clonazepam is ideally meant for short term use only. You can take it upto 4 weeks as and when needed. Clonotril plus contains escitalopram and clonazepam. After the initial period of a month, you can discuss with your doctor about switching to a tablet containing escitalopram alone (like nexito 10 mgs ). You may need to take escitalopram for at least 6 months, possibly up to a year or longer.

Hi, Only giving clonazepam is not the solution for any illness. It will just stop the symptoms immediately initially but after few months the same dose will become ineffective. Standard practice is to prescribe clonazapam for 4-6 weeks, than to taper it off.
