I am an 80-year-old diabetes patient. I am having type 2 diabetes from 30 years. I take 30/70 insulin 40 units before breakfast, and 20 units before dinner. I eat 120 carbs veg diet. My latest lab results are: fbg. 105 mg/dl, ppbg. 143 mg/dl, hba1c. 6.1%. My ppbg according to finger prick test varies from 160 to 250 mg/dl on several days. However, the ppbg values get reduced to a normal level of less than 120 mg/dl in a few hours. I do not have any diabetes complications till now.

As you have no diabetic problem you can continue in this range. If you can increase the pre-dinner insulin by 10 units the levels will be better controlled.
