She just got a minor wound (2 dots) from a scissor. The scissors are not having any visible marks of rust. She had taken a tetanus injection 2 years ago. Does she need another shot now?

Tt is not for protection from rust and all people should understand this. It is taken to prevent tetanus which occurs in soiled wounds deep inside. Tetanus is caused by a toxin made by spores of bacteria, clostridium tetani, found in soil, dust and animal feces. When the spores enter a deep flesh wound, they grow into bacteria that can produce a powerful toxin, tetanospasmin. The toxin impairs the nerves that control your muscles (motor neurons). The toxin can cause muscle stiffness and spasms ? the major signs and symptoms of tetanus.
