My 68 year old father had a slight chest discomfort and we went to meet the doctor. Ecg echo came out showing no problem but the stress test / treadmill test had a slight discomfort/ pressure in the chest area which eased after stopping. Angiogram was suggested though ecg and echo did not have any issues. How important is angio and how safe is it.

Hello and welcome to Lybrate. An angiogram is prescribed because the cardiologist was convinced that your father needs it. There are no other tests that can detect blocks and therefore you should go with the cardiologist's suggestion. You can contact me for further advice and treatment options. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
