Doctor hello, I am diabetic for last 8 years. Now I am taking glipmperide 2 mg and metformin 1000 mg morning and evening. My fasting blood sugar is128. Should I go for canagliflozin for further treatment.

Fbs is fairly good. However, hba1c is required before making a decision to add canagliflozin to your current therapy. Additional advantage of canagliflozin can be in terms of some weight loss for you which can be good.

If creatinine is normal, no history of urinary infection and years current urine, microscopy report is normal, you can take sglt 2 inhibitors. Then at this level, I think night glimepiride can be reduced. With canagliflozin always take care of years private part hygiene. You can do chat with me.
