Medication is normally prescribed for a limited period to see what effects the medicine has on that particular dose. Doctors then increase or decrease the dosage according to your response. After some trials even for the medication, the doctor will settle on what is called an 'optimum' dose. Once this is reached you will be put on that dosage and medication until all symptoms disappear and you report feeling good for some consistent time. At your age I recommend that you seek therapy in tandem with the medication for the best results.
