Yesterday I visited a psychiatric. I have been suffering from head pain ,restlessness, neck pain, nightmares ,difficulty in concentrating for the past 6 months. The doctor told I have been suffering from generalized anxiety disorder so he prescribed me cipralex 10 and beta cap 60 .i just want to know how much time it will require for totally eliminating the disease.

Hi, minimum course of psychiatric medication is one and half year. But you should definitely take psychotherapy along with medicine. Since it's generalized anxiety disorder and even without medicine it can occur time to time and therapy techniques will help you overcome it and lead a quality life. Effect of medicine will be achieved in 2 months max but the course needs to be completed consult with me or any psychologist for therapy and counselling online or in-person all the best.
