I'm prediabetes since last 10 years. I do not take any medicine. My fbs is between 125 to 150. After food is 135. My hba1c is 6.2 to 6.5. My prostate is enlarged. I take dutalfa. I take bp medicine for last 12 years. Doctor can you advise for medicine for diabetes.

Following are criteria to diagnose pre-diabetes and diabetes. 1) normal :fbg70 to 100 mg, pp < 140 mg & hba1c% <5.7% 2) pre-diabetes: fbg 101 to 125 mg, pp 141 to 199 mg & hba1c% 5.7 to 6.4% 3) diabetes:fbg 126 mg and above, pp 200 mg and above & hba1c% 6.5% and above. So please recheck your glucose levels or get an oral glucose tolerance test (ogtt) done to confirm whether you have diabetes. In case of pre-diabetes restricted diet, regular exercise and weight control will help in maintaining normal glucose levels. Thanks. Thanks.
