My age is 55 years and suffering from diabetes. Before taking medicine it was fasting 155 & pp 179 now I am taking glimepiride metformin hydrochloride sr 1 tab morning before lunch and pioglitazone hydrochloride metformin sr 1 tab after dinner now it becomes fasting 79 and pp 125, should I reduce dose or continue same?

Take pioglitazone at lunch.Repeat fasting pp blood sugar after 1 month.

Hello, Thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned show a very tight control. Fasting 79 mg can cause hypoglycemic episodes. You may take 0.5 mg Glimiperide with Metformin. That should help. There are tablets available with that strength. Thanks.

Not to reduce dose continue same but take glimipiride metformin sr 1 20 min before breakfast instead lunch and the other 20 min before dinner.
