I am diabetic since 1998. My age is 69 years. Height 5 f, 10 inches. At present I take glypride 2 mg bd. Galvus met (50+850) before break fast, roimet 850 mg od and pioz 15 od before dinner, and winofit od. The bs levels are 140 to 150 morning and 170 after lunch. The bs level is almost same since last three months. The h1ac is 6.8. My bs level of morning is some high. Pioz 30 may be taken in place pioz 15. Kindly suggest to over come this problem,

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is good to know you have a good glucose control and HbA1c% is also quite good. I do not see any reason to add any further drug or increase the dosage of Pioglitazone. Instead you may look at a better diet control and increasing the extent of daily exercise. Since beta cell distruction is progressive in nature so your glycemic control deteriorates with time. So you need to revise your treatment. On seeing current prescription you r taking most of the drugs. So either you add one more oral drug or my suggestion is start insulin it can help you preserving your rest of beta cells and making your overall glycemic control better. So please meet your treating physician he will guide you in this matter depending on your present condition of kidneys and heart.
