My father has been used glycomet 500 mg since 5 months after heart surgery of valve replacement. Now recently 2 days back take the consultation of diabetic doctor by seeing his situation doctor gave prescribed glycomet sr 500 mg? Is there any difference between these two names or any side effects? Please tell me sir.

Best treatment will be insulin, rather using any meds. Glycomet sr 500 can be used.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Both are containing same medication Metformin. One is a sustained release form, acting for a longer time. It is supposed to be better tolerated. That is all the difference. Thanks.
