Hello, I am female 23 years old I have 4 cats since I was 17 years old. I read about toxoplasmosis and that it could affect pregnancy now I am not pregnant and I am not in a relationship and I do not know if I have toxoplasmosis or not. My question is if I got toxoplasmosis long ago since I got cats, will this affect my pregnancy in the future or I will be immune to the disease and nothing will happen and no treatment will be needed? To be more clear if woman got toxoplasmosis before marriage by long time 3 years for example will this affect her pregnancy in the future or she will become immune to the disease. Thanks.

Dear Mam, If you had toxoplasmosis then by this time you would have been in hosp. Maintain hygiene with cats or any pet is of importance. Your pregnancy will not be affected with cats in house.
