Sir, I have tested for std as I got sores and blisters on genital. I have tested three times and all sides are negative but hsv test came with the result equivocal two times and last time it came negative. I had medicines for those sores and blisters but they repeating very frequently. My question is why these blisters come just after medication finished and what are they as I got negative results for all sides. Pls help me doctor.

Hello. Most probably you aeem to have hsv infection. The recurrence of lesions is common with hsv after 1st episode of clinical infection. There are medicines to prevent recurrence of lesions of hsv. It will be better if you pl consult with pics of your lesions in pvt consl. To have proper advice, including further test you may need to confirm or otherwise hsv inf. Thanks.

Kindly get yourself tested, if blisters recurr you need to rule out hsv infection, this can be ruled out by getting a tzanck smear test which will examine the fluid within the vesicles, this can be done at any lab/ dermatology clinic, sexually transmitted diseases can have a window period of 6 weeks to 6 years until the results turn out to be positive.
