I am 59 years old suffering from depression and chronic insomnia. Been taking thyroxine25, telma40, rosuvas5, nebi5 (bp, thyroid, cholesterol under control) besides nexito10 prescribed by psychiatric. Earlier prescribed medicine anxit plus was discontinued due to heaviness of head. Inspite of taking nexito for more than 3 months, still feel depressed, lazy, lack of energy, not having interest in anything. Not able to sleep without zolfresh5 inspite of knowing it's adverse effects. I am skipping my responsibilities as father, husband etc. Valued advice is sought.

Dear Lybrate user depression stress insomnia and thyroid (to some extent) all these problems are psychological and there are reasons causes and triggers. When you work on them (root causes) you will see the results. By taking medicines you are just working on the symptoms and managing your issues. To get long lasting and good results you need to consult a good clinical psychologist. There is a very strong relationship between sleep insomnia and stress and why you are not able to sleep. You can contact me for more information regarding this and also for a free consultation. Good luck. Take care.
