The patient is on paroxetine 50 mg and ativaan 4 mg -a day in connection with anxiety. Patient also has minor tremors for which inderal (propranolol) 40 mg is prescribed. Just wish to know which on of these is usually thought more effective- 1. One tablet of "inderal la" 40 mg or 2. Immediate release inderal 20 mg, given twice daily. Thanks a lot. Do not wish to go for therapies.

Mr. Lybrate-user, The difference between the two preparations is the duration of action: la being long acting (easy for the patient, take one in the morning and done for the day). Immediate release- for patients who don't find it difficult to take medications multiple times. Minimal difference in the effectiveness between the two as far as I have understood.
