My son, studying in grade 7 (moved from hong kong to nashik, india). He has too much social anxiety, attention deficit and extreme shyness ever since he was 3 years old. We did many consultations in india and hong kong and also therapies like speech, behavioral, play, group but to be of little help. One of the doctors in pune diagnosed the symptoms to asperger's syndrome, but we are not sure of the diagnosis and treatment. He is currently taking fluoxetine for anxiety but it's not much of a help. He is perfectly healthy otherwise. Any specific doctor or remedy you can recommend? I can be contacted on +mobile. Many thanks!

It is likely that he has a mild form of asperger's syndrome. There could be some history of prenatal problems due to some unforeseen stress in the mother. For such an early manifestation that is the likely origins. Even so he definitely needs some therapy on handling emotions, particularly, fear. So go to a child counselor and get some work done with handling hiss fear.

My suggestion would be to visit a psychologist. Anxiety is fear about the you known, fear about the future outcomes. Maybe he's finding it hard to cope in the new environment. A good talk everyday about things gonna be ok will do a lot. So let's not substitute mental health with allopathy treatment. Hes just finding it hard to fit in maybe.
