I was wondering what are the long term damage pfb may cause to someones skin. I know avoid shaving is the answer but can I get answers I can how to my superiors I am in the navy and they are changing the instruction requiring every man to shave no matter their skin condition. Either that or get kicked out. I just want to write a letter to the navy, because this new instruction is affecting a lot of people and the navy does not care. Getting a doctor opinion and facts will definitely help my letter and help with the facial hair war that has been happening for years. Thank you for your time. And I forgot to mention the other options is to get laser hair removal and no man would be willing to do this.

This condition usually occurs with those having curly hairs. There are a few things you may do to avoid getting skin bumps and rash: Shave with the grain of the beard and do not stretch the skin. Use only one stroke over each area of the beard. Use of an electric shaver may also help the condition because it does not cut as close as blades do. Use the electric razor on high setting to avoid close shaving and prepare beard with electric razor pre-shave. Do not stretch the skin while shaving and shave with the grain of beard growth. Avoid multiple repetitions of strokes in the same area. Do not press razor head hard against the skin. Shave every other day. Use skin moisturisers at the end of your shave and that should help soothe the skin to a greater extant.
