Betacap is propranolol, and acts on the autonomic symptoms of anxiety and not the cognitive symptoms for which you need ssris or snris, consult a psychiatrist and get proper medications. Good luck.

Normally the mainstay of anxiety treatment is medication such as SSRI class of drugs which are highly effective for anxiety. Beta blockers such as betacap, or benzodizepines are only given temporarily to control the physical symptoms of anxiety till the SSRI medicine starts to take effect. Also dose used for anxiety is usually between 20 to 40. 60mg is not used.

Dear, you must be able to distinguish between mental disease and mental disorder. Your problem is a mental disorder. Not a mental disease. These mental disorders are usually treated with a combination of medicines and other means like awareness, meditation, psychotherapy techniques, life style changes etc. I think two or three counseling sessions and psychotherapy techniques should solve your problem. Let me know if you are willing to undergo counseling sessions and tailor made psychotherapy through mobile. Take care.
