My fbs is 115 and ppbs is 155 as on today. Kindly advise.

This is the first communication from you. Hence, I am not aware of which product are you referring as there is no name mentioned. So I really do not know the "Ingredient" 
As regards taking Metformin it is fine, but please inform following details : The name of the product you are referring. HbA1c%, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile and BP readings.  At your age HbA1c% should be maintained around 7% for having good glucose control. 
Looking at your height and weight with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 28.15 kgs/Sq meter you are quite over weight. At 70 years your ideal body weight should be about 56 kgs. This also matters in giving better control of blood glucose. Thanks.
